Safety representatives and incidents: your own right to stop work, the representative's tools, regional representatives, and the path to the Swedish Work Environment Authority
An incident that is not documented has not occurred. A safety representative who requests measures according to Chapter 6, Section 6 a of the Work Environment Act must receive a written response—otherwise, the matter is referred to the Swedish Work Environment Authority. In the event of immediate danger, the representative can halt work, and you have the right to stop without being liable for compensation. If there is no representative, the union can appoint a regional one.
